MAA American Mathematics Competitions Policies – Korea

Applicants must submit their school mathematics teacher's email address, which may be used to contact the teacher if any issue arises. Disqualification will be notified as described below.
응시자는 재학 학교 수학 선생님의 이메일 주소를 제출해야 하며, 문제 발생 시 해당 선생님께 연락이 이루어집니다. 아래 내용에 따라 실격 사항이 통보됩니다.

General Rules

1. All participants must meet the official date-of-birth and grade requirements.
2. A student who resides in Korea or is enrolled at a school in Korea and wishes to take the AMC (8/10/12) or AIME II in another country must first obtain approval from the official Korean organizer (KGSEA). KGSEA reserves the right to decline such requests.
3. A student residing outside Korea may take the exam in Korea only when there is no official AMC organizer in their country of residence, so that participation would otherwise be impossible.
4. If a student is found to have cheated on the AMC 8 or AMC 10/12, they will be disqualified for the rest of the cycle. A second offense may result in permanent removal from the MAA Competitions Program.
5. If a student is found to have cheated on the AIME or any Olympiad-level competition, all of their scores for that cycle will be invalidated, and they will not be permitted to take part in future competitions.
6. Violations, once confirmed, will result in automatic cancellation even after registration.
7. All other disqualification decisions are subject to the judgment of the MAA.
8. As the official administering organization in Korea, KGSEA reserves the right to revoke the eligibility of any student, school, or learning center that undermines the integrity of the AMC.

Eligibility Requirements for Students in Korea

1. All registrants must provide the name and email address of their current school mathematics teacher at the time of registration. This information cannot be modified after submission.
2. Homeschool and online school students may not register for the AMC in Korea (with the exception of the AMC 8).
3. If the submitted information is inaccurate, it will be verified through the school's official email for enrolled students.
4. If a first-time participant qualifies for the AIME, their results may be shared with their school regardless of whether they choose to participate in the AIME.
5. If a student demonstrates abnormal or irregular score changes, their results may be shared with their school at any time.
6. AMC scores and registration details may be shared with the student’s school.
7. If a retest is deemed necessary, the retest will follow the official KGSEA test administration procedures.
8. Any student who refuses a required retest without valid justification will have their results invalidated.

2. 한국에 거주하거나 한국 내 학교에 재학 중인 학생이 다른 국가에서 AMC(8/10/12) 또는 AIME II에 응시하고자 하는 경우, 사전에 한국 공식 주관 기관(KGSEA)의 승인을 받아야 하며, KGSEA는 이러한 요청에 대해 거절할 권리를 가집니다.

5. AIME 및 올림피아드급 대회에서 부정행위가 적발될 경우 해당 시험 주기의 모든 성적이 무효 처리되며, 이후 대회 참가가 불허됩니다.
6. 부정행위 사실이 확인되면 등록 이후라도 즉시 성적이 취소됩니다.
7. 실격과 관련한 모든 결정은 MAA의 최종 판단에 따릅니다.
8. 한국 내 공식 주관 기관인 KGSEA는 AMC의 공정성을 해치는 학생, 학교, 학원의 참가 자격을 취소할 권리를 가집니다.

Eligibility Requirements for Students in Korea

1. 모든 응시자는 등록 시 소속 학교 수학 교사의 성명과 이메일 주소를 제출해야 하며, 제출 후 임의로 수정할 수 없습니다.
2. 홈스쿨 및 온라인 스쿨 학생은 한국에서 AMC에 등록할 수 없습니다. (단, AMC 8 제외)
3. 제출된 정보가 부정확할 경우, 학교 재학생의 경우 학교 공식 이메일을 통해 확인이 진행됩니다.
4. AMC 신규 참가자가 AIME 진출 점수를 획득할 경우, AIME 응시 여부와 관계없이 성적은 소속 학교와 공유될 수 있습니다.
5. 비정상적이거나 급격한 성적 변동이 있는 경우, 해당 결과는 학교와 언제든지 공유될 수 있습니다.
6. AMC 성적 및 등록 정보는 학생의 소속 학교와 공유될 수 있습니다.
7. 재시험이 필요하다고 판단될 경우, KGSEA의 공식 시험 관리 절차에 따라 재시험이 진행됩니다.
8. 정당한 사유 없이 필수 재시험을 거부하는 학생은 성적이 무효 처리됩니다.

2025 AIME Cheating Issue

Appeal Process for Participants Classified for Cheating

Participants who are labeled as disqualified can only appeal through their school's math teacher.
No responses will be provided to inquiries from participants, parents, or any third parties.

Procedure

1. Forward this page's link (https://kgsea.info/43vAJFw) to the teacher.
2. Consult with the Math teacher about the matter, then Math teacher submit an inquiry via email to ( DIRECTOR@KGSEA.ORG ).

Eligibility for Filing an Appeal

It must be done by the student's Math teacher.
The Math teacher must currently be instructing the student at school or have taught the student within the past year.
The Math teacher should use his/her school's official email address, and must include school's official phone number with which to contact him/her.

Appeal Deadline

April 29, 2025 23:59.

Note: During the appeal period, responses to inquiries will not be provided immediately.
Actual response will begin on April 30. Until then, only the email receipt will be acknowledged.
All responses to appeals will be delivered in batches between April 30 and May 1.
